I wanted to do a science project with Legos. I wanted to try a landscape.
My project is a website that provides people with a calculator that allows them to calculate their maximum heart rate, target heart rate range and body mass index. It also provides some information on how to interpret and use the given values.
Storymakers Club worked collaboratively on two stories they wrote. They hosted an event called: Storymakers Presents, where the students had a chance to read these stories out loud to friends and family.
Joining the archery team is an exciting achievement that I accomplished. It took a few weeks of practice to get to that level. It starts at 10 yards for the 101 class and once you graduate, you move up with the team and shoot from 20 yards. It is exiting every Monday and Wednesday evening. Practice lasts from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. For the last three practices, I have been practicing for tournaments which will begin in January. Next to me are recurve bow shooters. I am in the middle, Emma is on the left, and Lauren is on the right. It is fun and exciting, yet patience is needed for the accuracy of the shot. If you want to try it, go for it. But if you miss, never give up, you just need some practice, and you can get it right the next time.
I completed this project with 6-7 year old students. I published it on Shutterfly and am now working on a science book which is 80 pages long.
This is a project Kesja worked on over the summer. It is an amazing example of citizen science and of what a dedicated student can accomplish when provided with opportunities and tools.
