This trio just took 1st place in their robotics camp tournament and also brought home the award for Best Design!
What a powerful reminder that when young minds are fueled by curiosity, collaboration, and courage, amazing things are possible. They worked tirelessly to build, test, refine and most importantly, they supported each other every step of the way.

Hafsah Sadek Volunteering
Hafsah Sadek
11th grade

For the past 10 weeks, and continuing today, I have volunteered across UK HealthCare, including the UK Chandler area, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center. I have supported patients in the East, West, and North wings of the Kentucky Children's Hospital by spending time with younger children through play, slime-making, and visits to the playroom, as well as engaging older patients with activities and conversation. My work also includes sanitizing shared spaces, such as the Work and Playroom, to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all patients, parents, and staff members. As I continue to volunteer at UK Healthcare, I support the Volunteer office by delivering patient mail and flowers to patients in Pavilion H and A, assisting the administration office, and connecting with high schoolers and college students from across the state. These simple moments with patients and staff have proved to me multiple times that simple acts of care can be meaningful and can genuinely change anyone's perspective on the world.

Mikey
4th grade

This summer I spent a lot of time learning to swim. At first I started out with my life vest, but after learning to swim with it, I was pushed to try to learn to swim without it. I wanted to swim on the deep end of the pool and was told I couldn't till I learned to swim and thats just what I did.

As a bilingual Egyptian-American student, I created this project to share the challenges and hopes surrounding Arabic language preservation in immigrant communities. Through research, storytelling, and visual data, I wanted to present the beauty and explain the importance of keeping heritage languages alive across generations. This topic is deeply personal to me, and I hope it inspires others to cherish and protect their cultural roots.
