CMASAS Assemblies
The intention behind our regular all-school assemblies is to develop a feeling of unity, to build school spirit, and to foster a positive school culture among the students and staff. Our goal is to have a dynamic speaker each quarter who engages students in personal growth opportunities. Our next event is being planned, so stay tuned!
In March 2021, New York Times Bestselling Author Mark Cheverton was our guest speaker. Mark Cheverton has written 24 action/adventure novels set in the digital realms of Minecraft for kids ages 8-13, and now has a young adult series called The Giants of Stonehold. His books have been published in 31 countries around the world, 20 languages, and have appeared on the New York Times Bestseller’s list with 2 million copies in print. Mark shared his fascinating journey with us.
In November 2020, we had 180 students attend our school assembly when NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) came to us! We learned about Amie Cantilo’s role with NASA and spacewalks. Amie Cantilo is the EVA Logistics Lead and manages all EVA hardware for the space suits, all the tools required to complete spacewalks, and helps maintain the suits on the International Space Station. Recently, she has started working on the planning for Artemis missions, which are going to the moon.
