"When I went to school in person, I never felt like I had a team of people all trying to help me. It used to feel like it was me against my school. At CMASAS I feel supported and cared for, not because I’m just a student, but because the staff genuinely take the time to understand you and you’re learning patterns, and they make a consistent effort to work with you even if you’re not one-hundred percent all the time!
My main hobbies are drawing and social activism! Drawing is how I cope. It’s one of the few times my brain is silent, and I can focus on creating. Drawing is my peace in a lot of ways, and I use it to express how I feel and tell my story . When it comes to social activism, I’ve joined a lot of programs whether it was interfaith or going to a rally or a march. I regularly use my Instagram account to spread awareness on the issues that impact us.
When I got Student of the Month, I was shocked! It came at a time where I felt I wasn’t doing enough so to be seen in a positive light, and to have that validation was very impactful. When it comes to online school, I would say you can't get a better community. Before I came here, I went to an online school where I never met with my teachers, had clubs, or even talked to a student from my school. I was alone in everything I did, but CMASAS takes the extra step to make sure that's not the case and that you have the support you need. They go the extra mile for kids to have a good school experience. They make your high school years memorable and I truly wished I could’ve joined CMASAS sooner!"
