Lab Course

In Science 5, students will review the scientific method and practice experimental design to help them get ready to plan experiments and prepare for the science fair. They will learn about mixtures, states of matter, and the atomic theory. After studying matter students look at magnetism, describe magnetic fields, and look at how poles interact. They will explore the universe and take a look at our galaxy and solar system. They will explore how the Earth was formed and the spheres that interact to make life as we know it possible. Then students will learn about the systems that make up the human body and keep us moving. Lastly, students will put their knowledge of the scientific method to the test and design their own science fair project to present. Students can use this as an opportunity to find a problem to solve and test their solution.  Physical lab kits are mailed to students.
