In Science 4, students will review the scientific method and apply this knowledge to design their own experiment to help prepare them for the science fair at the end of the course. They will learn about forms of energy, how energy moves, sound energy, and heat energy. After studying energy students will learn about different types of waves. They will learn about plant and animal structures and functions as they relate each structure to the role it plays within the plant or animal. They will learn about plant reproduction, plant and animal life cycles, ecosystems and how living things adapt to survive. Next students will learn about types and properties of earth’s rocks and minerals. They will explore fossils and what they can tell us about the history of our planet. Finally, students will design and conduct your own science project. Physical lab kits are mailed to students.
